Alison J. Clarke, the co-curator of Victor Papanek: The Politics of Design, is Director of the Victor J. Papanek Foundation and Professor of Design History and Theory. She talks in this short video about a key element in the exhibition: the ‘Big Character’ poster, which hung in many a student room in the 1970s, possibly alongside Che Guevara. Drawn by Papanek himself, the poster shows at a glance what his social and design criticism was all about.
