The installation Posse shows how our identity and emotions are shaped by the interaction between culture, technology and group dynamics. The installation is inspired by the Supreme brand, which is featured in an exhibition on the second floor. Supreme connects street culture, fashion and design. Posse shows an abstract but recognisable representation of figures that interact with each other and with the viewer. This posse responds to visitors and is created from the fusion of all the people who have ever stood in front of the installation. Together with the audience, the installation forms a dynamic whole in which individuality and collectivity merge. Posse invites you to reflect on the meaning of culture, identity, emotions and connectedness in a digital world driven by interactive algorithms. The installation can be viewed on the museum’s ground floor, which is accessible free of charge.
Designers in Residence
With support from Cultuurloket DigitALL, Design Museum Den Bosch is appointing a Designer in Residence for a period of eighteen months. Chris Kievid and Lars van Vianen started in 2024. They are investigating the opportunities, possibilities and pitfalls of interactive digital presentation options in the physical space of the museum. Using three different test cases, they are determining which forms of ER (extended reality) appeal to our museum audience, which stories from exhibitions and the collection lend themselves to the use of digital presentation options, and how our curators can use ER in their projects.
During the Designer in Residence programme, several prototypes and installations will be displayed and tested in the museum. This project – Posse – is the second project in the series.
