You can enter free of charge on presentation of the following cards: Museumkaart, Rembrandtkaart, VriendenLoterij VIP-KAART, Museum Vriendenkaart, ICOM and AICA. Half-price entry is available on presentation of a CJP card, student card or college card. Free entry for everyone under the age of 18.

Can I buy a Museumkaart (Museum Card) and use it straight away?

Absolutely. You can purchase a Museumkaart at our ticket desk and use it immediately. The card you receive will be a temporary one, good for five museum visits and a period of up to 31 days. If you register it online, you will receive your full Museumkaart by post.

Do I need to book in advance? Can I buy tickets at the museum?

You can buy tickets to visit our museum online in advance or in person at the ticket desk. We don’t use fixed time-slots, which means you don’t have to book a particular time. So it’s entirely up to you. Tickets for Design Museum Den Bosch cost the same online and at the ticket desk. Combined tickets for our museum and Het Noordbrabants Museum are cheaper to buy online. Please note that for special events such as lectures and workshops, it is recommended that you purchase your ticket online in advance. For more information, see our Calendar of events.

Can I cancel or change my tickets?

Have you bought tickets online but would now prefer to come at another time? You can easily modify your tickets online via this link. It is also possible to cancel your ticket. To do this, fill in the form on this page.

Do I need to print out a ticket that I have purchased online?

You can print your online ticket and bring it with you or we can also scan it from your phone. Simply choose which method is easiest for you.

Can I buy a combined ticket for Het Noordbrabants Museum and Design Museum Den Bosch?

Absolutely. We really like it when you visit both museums. You can buy a combination ticket online or at the ticket desk of both museums.

Do I need a ticket to visit the MuseumBrasserie or MuseumShop?

You can visit the brasserie or the museum shop without a ticket. They are located in the freely accessible part of the museum.

Accessibility

Is the museum accessible to wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walking bikes?

You are welcome to visit in a wheelchair, both manual and electric, or with a walking bike. Design Museum Den Bosch has full access thanks to our spacious lift. There are no thresholds in the building and you can enter the museum via a ramp. Cobblestones in the surrounding streets might make it a little harder to reach us. You are also welcome to visit in a mobility scooter. Bear in mind, though, that it can be tricky to manoeuvre a large mobility scooter at certain exhibitions.

There is an accessible toilet in all the toilet blocks, which are located on the ground floor and the first floor. Lockers are available at different heights.

You can borrow a wheelchair at the museum suitable for people weighing up to 125 kg. Book it by e-mailing info@designmuseum.nl, phoning 073-6270 3680 or asking at reception. You can request a stool in the same way. The lightweight model is easy to carry.

Can you park or be dropped off near to the museum?

The Wolvenhoek car park is located 100 metres from the museum. You can also be dropped off at the entrance at 4 De Mortel. But you are only allowed to drop someone off and leave immediately: you cannot park directly outside the entrance for longer than it takes to do this.

 Are assistance dogs allowed?

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome.

I want to bring a companion. Do I need to book them a ticket?

Disabled visitors can bring a companion with them free of charge. Present yourselves at the ticket desk. If you are buying your tickets via the online ticket shop, select the ‘Other discount card’ option for your companion’s ticket.

I would like to visit the museum at a quiet time.

It can be hard to predict how crowded the museum will be. It depends on lots of factors, including the weather and the day of the week. Generally speaking, we are busiest during weekends and holiday periods. It is much quieter on weekdays, especially after 3pm.

Is there an adapted toilet I can use?

Each toilet block has an adapted toilet for disabled people.

House rules and practicalities

 Is a cloakroom available?

There are lockers on the ground floor of the museum in which you can safely store your belongings free of charge. There is also a rack you can hang your coat and other items on. Please note, though, that it is not supervised.

Can I take my coat and bag with me into the museum?

You can keep your coat and bag with you on the ground floor, accessible free of charge, in the MuseumBrasserie and in the MuseumShop. Before you visit the exhibition rooms, we ask you to store items (including bags) larger than A4 size in the free lockers in the cloakroom. Some larger lockers are available for items too big for the regular ones. Please ask at the front desk.

Can I visit with a pram, buggy or baby sling?

Prams and buggies are allowed, provided that the child remains in them for the whole of the visit. If your child prefers to walk or to be carried, you should take the pram or buggy to the cloakroom. Baby slings are allowed, provided they are worn on your front. There is free entry for everyone under the age of 18.

Can I take photographs in the museum?

Unless indicated otherwise, you’re allowed to take photographs in the museum. Lights, flash or tripods cannot be used, however, without prior permission. To request permission, contact communicatie@designmuseum.nl. Do you share your photos on social media? If so, we’d love it if you would tag us via @designmuseumdenbosch.

Are dogs or other pets allowed in the museum?

Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to bring your pet into the museum. It goes without saying that guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome.

Can I eat or drink in the museum?

Food and drinks are only permitted in the MuseumBrasserie and its terrace. You may not consume food or drinks you have brought with you in the museum or the MuseumBrasserie.

 Are toilets available?

There are two toilet blocks in the museum: one on the ground floor and one at the end of the exhibition room on the first floor. Both blocks are gender-neutral and have an adapted disabled toilet.

Can I interrupt my visit to the museum to go and have lunch in town, for instance?

Officially, you cannot leave the museum during your visit: we can only scan your ticket once. Please talk to our ticket desk staff if you really do need to leave the museum and return later in the day.

I lost something in the museum, what do I do?

The best thing is to email us at info@designmuseum.nl. The museum staff will do their utmost to help you.
