Ghetto without street names

The Nazis transformed Łódź into Litzmannstadt. This map, featuring German street names, omits the barbed wire boundaries of the ghetto. Nevertheless, the area of this first (and ultimately last) major ghetto remains easily identifiable. Streets within the ghetto are identified only by numbers and letters, implying that Jewish residents would tarnish German street names with their presence.
