In addition to the ‘Christian Emigration Central’ and the ‘Catholic Emigration Foundation’, the ‘General Emigration Central’ is a federation of social organisations that mediates for Dutch nationals who want to continue their lives elsewhere. This government-subsidised organisation helps find work overseas, as well as setting up retraining and language courses. Between 1947 and 1963, 410,000 people emigrated from the Netherlands.
