Pieces of Time: Maarten Baas on His Time-Related Art Works

Lezing — Alle tijd van de wereld

(Please note this lecture is in English, the other lectures in this series are in Dutch)

In the lecture series Time Thinkers, we put time on hold for a moment, to take a closer look at it. The path from birth to death, the cycle of the seasons, the rhythm of day and night… time is a mysterious phenomenon that has fascinated artists, philosophers and scientists for thousands of years. How do we measure time, and more importantly, how do we shape it? What does it really mean to be productive, or to make the most of your day?

Starting in May, the museum will be open longer every first Thursday of the month. During these evenings, we invite different speakers to reflect on the philosophical, subjective, cultural, and economic meanings of time.
