Jewish partisans

In West Belarus and Wolhynia (northwest Ukraine), Jewish resistance fighters regularly allied with anti-fascist partisans who operated in the region’s forests and swamps. An underground Jewish bunker community emerged, housing over a thousand men, women, children, and elderly individuals. This clandestine settlement featured essential facilities such as a field hospital, prison, school, and a court.
